Gooseneck Hitch FAQs
A Gooseneck Hitch is designed for use in a pickup truck similar to a Fifth Wheel.
The difference is that the Gooseneck uses a ball and coupler instead of a kingpin and pin receiver. Typically, the trailers that are most commonly used for this type of Gooseneck Hitch is a horse trailer.

Above the bed installation - The 25K Above-Bed Gooseneck has rails and the hitch itself in the bed of the pickup.
Under the bed installation - The Signature Series® Gooseneck Hitch has rails that attach under the bed of the pickup and the Gooseneck Hitch attaches inside the bed. It can be removed and a Fifth Wheel Signature Series® Hitch can be mounted instead, for a very versatile setup if the owner has both types of trailers.
The 30K Hide-A-Goose also is an under the bed installation and the ball can be stored upside down in the hitch when not in use. It only has a 4“ hole in the truck bed that is required and an optional magnetic cover can hide the hole when the ball is stored.

Fold Down - The Fold Down Gooseneck has the rails under the pickup bed, but differs because the hitch ball itself is mounted on a plate in the bed. 
When not in use, the ball can fold down (hence the name) and the full bed of the pickup is usable. You can change this setup in seconds.
Removable Ball - The Remov-A-Ball Gooseneck Hitch also has the rails under the pickup and also has a plate in the bed where the ball is mounted. This hitch differs because the ball can be removed entirely and either a 2-5/16“ ball or a 3” ball can be changed out, making it more versatile.
